I am a Microbiologist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention working with vector-borne diseases. My primary responsibility is managing a historical arbovirus repository. I've had the opportunity to travel internationally and work with government institutions and NGOs to promote public health. As a Federal employee I've been able to volunteer to deploy for disease outbreaks in various settings; performing diagnostic testing during an Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone, screening international travelers for COVID-19 at LAX, and working in HHS to support two separate administrations on a Testing and Diagnostics Working Group in Washington DC.
FedHock FFA members volunteered to help the Athens soil and water conservation district with their 75th annual banquet. Our members helped park cars, played games with kids, went on a farm tour and helped clean up. We were also recognized for our help over the years with water fest, tree bundling and raising pollinator plants for community gardens.
FFA had their first FFA meeting of the year after school Wed, Sept 29. Our members had an ice breaker activity, ate Subway, held the meeting, and then wrapped up with a game of kickball. Previous Next
