First Year of Teaching

By Karra Thompson

Carrie Towne is a 6th grade teacher at Federal Hocking Middle School. She likes helping people learn and grow as individuals.

Her favorite music is pop. She has a 20 year old daughter and husband. She lives on  a small farm in Meigs county. She has 11 cats, three dogs, a chicken and goat. Towne’s favorite food is Mexican and Chinese. One thing that inspires Towne is when people show good character. Towne’s pet peeves are disrespect and people who refuse to help themselves.  She has travel ambitions.

“I want to travel to the Grand Canyon for the last time.”

Towne’s favorite hobbies are reading, writing, and oil painting. Her dream job is teaching Hebrew. She was a substitute teacher for about 12 years; this is her actual first year of teaching, and she intends to teach for many more years.

She enjoys teaching at Federal Hocking, even though it’s a challenge but she is up to it. Towne’s goals are to become the best teacher she can be. Someone who inspires Towne is a friend named Rob, her mom, and LeBron Bronte. Towne’s favorite music artist is Taylor Swift.

Towne is clearly a fun person. She’s super interesting.
