I have been teaching for 19 years. After teaching at Fed Hock for 2 years, I moved on to Berne Union Elementary in 2005. I have been teaching first grade here for 16 years. I am currently the president of the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fairfield County, was named Alum of the month in June for the Patton College of Education and am an Epic! Master Teacher for the second year.
I have dipped my artistic interests into the craft of portraits, starting senior year. I gravitate towards creating portraits; as an emerging artist, I believe that it is crucially important to master the concept of drawing faces and the human figure, if one were to dabble in the concept of drawing any human being. Overall, I greatly enjoy creating portraits. The following piece is a self portrait project I have made in last semester's Advanced Art class.
