Bobo moved to FHHS for his sophomore year and he is now a junior. Before coming to FHHS, Bobo attended Athens High School. Working hard in school is nothing new for him as he has worked extremely hard in school for his whole life.  This year, Bobo believes that the class he does the best in is math. He is taking Algebra 2 with Paul Golter.…

Remembering Lester Green

On January 5, 2025, Lester A. Green Sr., a wonderful man and staple of the Federal Hocking community, passed away at the Belpre campus of Marietta Memorial Hospital. Breaking Records

Breaking Records

Evan McPherson went from hating running to breaking the school's record time. In middle school, McPherson played basketball and football. He first joined cross country to be with friends and quickly learned about the difficulties of the sport. McPherson was one of the slowest on the team and would often get left behind when they ran; regardless, he pushed on. Rosemary Stephens and Brayden Tabler, who were upperclassmen runners when McPherson was in middle school, pushed him to be a better runner and he started to enjoy running. He was also extremely inspired by Ron Dunfee, who had set the…

The Joy of Running: FedHock Cross Country

The Joy of Running: FedHock Cross Country

By Coral StephensCross country is fun but a lot of work, but it's also worth it. In Cross Country they have two different groups. The middle school team runs 2 miles at meets but even more at practice to build their stamina and get even better at it. The high school team runs 3.1 miles, and they also run more at practices to build their stamina and to get better. If you were thinking about joining, they practice every night from 3 till 5 unless it's the night before a race so they can rest their muscles. My big sister Rosemary Stephens…
