Stressed for Success

Stressed for Success

We all have that one student in our school that studies during free time and always goes above and beyond for everything. Federal Hocking High School has plenty of them, one being Mason Bobo. Bobo moved to FHHS for his sophomore year and he is now a junior. Before coming to FHHS, Bobo attended Athens High School. Working hard in school is nothing new for him as he has worked extremely hard in school for his whole life.  This year, Bobo believes that the class he does the best in is math. He is taking Algebra 2 with Paul Golter.…

Remembering Lester Green

Remembering Lester Green

On January 5, 2025, Lester A. Green Sr., a wonderful man and staple of the Federal Hocking community, passed away at the Belpre campus of Marietta Memorial Hospital. Many people within our district would know Green as a board member, putting in 19 years as a Federal Hocking Board member. Self-Portrait by Darius Pierce

Self-Portrait by Darius Pierce

I aimed to create a composition on my current emotion. To better elaborate, this artwork particularly was created in the purgatory of fall. Where we return to school, but the swing of things just isn’t back. Furthermore, this artwork was the only representation of our school, and only one of two in our region, to be selected for exhibition in the Ohio Statehouse.

Self-Portrait by Baylor Cooper

I have dipped my artistic interests into the craft of portraits, starting senior year. I gravitate towards creating portraits; as an emerging artist, I believe that it is crucially important to master the concept of drawing faces and the human figure, if one were to dabble in the concept of drawing any human being. Overall, I greatly enjoy creating portraits. The following piece is a self portrait project I have made in last semester's Advanced Art class.
