Calling all thespians, theater-goers, and fans of the arts! This is the event for you. Beginning the weekend of March 18th, Stuart’s Opera House will be performing the long awaited show Sister Act.
If you’re unfamiliar with the show, Sister Act tells the story of a confident young woman (Deloris), who after witnessing a felony, must go into the witness protection program in order to escape from her criminal boyfriend and his crew. Deloris ends up joining a convent to disguise herself as a nun, and teaches her new friends how to find their voices, and rediscovers her own in the process. It’s a wonderfully uplifting story with lots of heart and delightful spritzes of comedy in between.
Cast members have been waiting for as long as two years to perform the show, after the original opening was shut down due to the sudden Covid-19 lockdown. Now, they have the chance to get back into the swing of things with the performance they’ve looked forward to for so long.
Attending this show would also give you the opportunity to watch Federal Hocking student Jozlyn Bew perform as TJ, a young, blissfully ignorant miscreant following in his uncle’s footsteps as they pursue Deloris. The character really shines in his dullest moments, whether it’s flirting with the wrong person or impersonating a nun.
If you’re interested in seeing this wild performance, tickets are being sold at the link below. Performance dates range from March 18th to the 20th, to the following weekend of March 25th to the 27th. The cast has been working hard for longer than ever before to get this show off the ground, and it’s going to be an amazing one!
Hope to see you there!
